Brunch Bunch: Ja’Net and Patrick talk funding opportunities on AM1390

Community Desk Chicago President and CEO Ja’Net Defell and Senior Director of Real Estate Programs Patrick Brutus joined the Brunch Bunch show on AM 1390. It was a great platform to share our work in the community and to discuss critical issues impacting the ability for Black and Brown neighborhoods to thrive. Access to capital and resources, but most importantly controlling the real estate, continue to be ongoing challenges. Some commercial corridors in Chicago have vacancy rates as high as 43%. Black and Brown people are capturing only 4% of the wealth generated from commercial real estate. We are working to do our part to change the system.
